I am a venezuelan journalist and a jazz writer also. I would like to write about Kenny Werner and I would like to get some Mr Werner’s pictures.
Thanks a lot

Hey Kenny!
I remember you from Oceanside High School! One and the same? You were deeply into music then. Congrats on an amazing career and for being successful at what you love to do.
Best regards,
Mady Wasserman

Hi Kenny,
I am looking forward to your performance down here in Fort Lauderdale next May with Joe Lovano. As Reggie Marshall well knows, this is way overdue. He and I have been talking about having you play for South Florida JAZZ for many years. I am glad it is finally going to happen.
Best regards,
Ron

Dennis Edwards (Jazz Pianist) November 14, 2009 at 11:15 am

Hi Kenny, ‘Long time no talk to. I live in San Francisco and saw you many times when you toured the Bay Area with Toots, and with Betty Buckley. When I practice piano, I walk by the picture of you and me standing together at Yoshi’s in Oakland. I’m playing jazz festivals and still writing and recording. I love your playing, your sound, your approach to the piano. Eventhough I managed to con you into writing in my copy of Effortless Mastery the words: “Thank you Dennis, for teaching me everything I know” -a joke that you were kind enough to go along with, I continue to learn from your playing. Our philosophies are different, in that I believe in “unlimited effort”, but despite that I learn from you. We both grew up learning from T.V., loving Victor Borge, Roger Williams, and I also dug Peter Nero! I love your Beer Commercial Song. Really great writing and voicings, and I can hear that being sung by the “Hi-Los” as a knock out radio spot. I must also offer you my deep sympathy for the passing of your daughter. I was devistated with I read about her tragic accident. I hope you continue to find peace, comfort and healing in music. We piano players here on the “left” coast talk about you a lot. Everyone really likes you man, and we all love your writing and playing. You’ve always been a joy to listen to and a true inspiration and teacher to all who hear your music. God bless you man, where ever you are, and we hope to see you again real soon back in San Francisco or Oakland. Until then, keep on play’n. You are indeed making this world a far more beautiful place. Sincerely, -Dennis Edwards
